WrestleMania 42 is shaping up to be a bit of a mystery, and that's a bummer. Here's why:
Geno Mrosko, a lifelong wrestling fan and seasoned journalist, is keeping a close eye on the action. As of the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, only one match is officially confirmed for WrestleMania 42, which is just over two months away in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of the second night will see Roman Reigns, the Royal Rumble winner, challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. But what about the rest of the card?
According to Fightful Select, the so-called 'original plans' for the event haven't been revealed, and a lot of the card is still up for grabs. Liv Morgan, the Royal Rumble winner, has yet to decide between two champions: Stephanie Vaquer and Jade Cargill. The winner of the women's Elimination Chamber match will face the winner of this decision, and Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE Championship against the winner of the men's Elimination Chamber match. But the rest of the card is wide open, leaving fans wondering about the status of matches like Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker.
AJ Lee's involvement is also a mystery. She hasn't been heard from since her last big show at Survivor Series last year. And what about the names that have been rumored, like Brock Lesnar, GUNTHER, Cody Rhodes, Jacob Fatu, Sami Zayn, and even Logan Paul? It seems like we'll have to wait and see, but the lack of clarity on the card's direction reflects the current state of WWE's creative process. While Reigns and Punk will undoubtedly steal the show, fans are hoping for more from the rest of the card.
